Well, this was one hell of a ride with my wife as pillion on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, 2021 model. After I got the ride, I did extensive travel across the Southern parts of India with my spouse but this particular ride was an epic one. This started as a very clean and simple plan of cruising through NH 44 and NH 16 and reaching Kolkata. When we started from Bangalore little did we know that this wouldn't just be about cruising on the beautiful highways but had more to it! The Evolving Motorcycle Scene The Indian motorcycle scene has changed drastically over the last few years. I mean, who would have thought that Indian roads would see a surge in ADV bikes and sports bike cruising in a blink of an eye on the open highways. The roads and highways have improved over the last decade. We have great connection of roadways and infrastructure now. The Indian roads are now ready for the higher cc engines and bigger bikes. To keep up with the winds of change the motorcycle manufacturers are now focusing on ADV bikes and and bigger engines.  Brands like Triumph, Harley Davidson have already tried to put in their firm step for the Indian markets by collaborating with  Bajaj and Hero respectively. Chapter 1: Ladakh Ride | My Offbeat Route from Kolkata to Manali

I woke up and like every day scrolled through my phone's notifications before getting up from my bed. I couldn't move from the bed for the next 30 mins and all the happiness seemed to fade away as soon as I read the news about the India-Pakistan faceoff at the borders. The Indian response to the Pahalgam terror attack was something that was way more important than our Ladakh trip but the thought of postponing the trip sank my heart!  I had been dreaming of the cold desert, the barren mountains and the untamed paths for years and now when I was so close to living it in reality, this happened.
